The Economic Disaster Recovery Project (EDRP)
The EDRP is a project completed following the devastating floods of 2013 that impacted dozens of communities across Alberta. Lives and livelihoods were lost. Many peoples' businesses were forced to close since they did not prepare sufficiently in advance for the potential of such a disaster. The attached Toolkit for Economic Preparedness was developed by Economic Developers Alberta (EDA) with provincial and private funding.
This Toolkit also describes the role of Economic Development professionals in the lead-up to, and during a disaster.
Businesses can learn what they should do by going directly to Chapter III on Page 19: Disaster Preparation Measures - Building Capacity for Recovery.
